First Batch! Improvement Needed

Crochet as hobby and crochet as industry
are two very different things

Specially like me a crochet as you go type
so, making one sample and to teach another to do exactly the same
is quite stressful.
I found that different person are very different handling

The word "Handmade" now is so powerful in my mind..

Because at the beginnign even literally holding the hook are different from each other..
Not to mention Gauge  oooh!   so much tricky than creating the design

Here are rough trial before sewing process

I'm still learning by doing to create design that of course has to be interesting
but easy to make in the same time
since its impossible for me to make every piece of the products

Not to mention yarn hunting
buying for your personal favorite is limitless and priceless

but for industry??
ah, so hard to combine quality and affordable price

well, still doing this because the word crochet is still involve

so, I'm learning to find the fun in crochet industry...
guess if there still yarn and hook in it
I'll fall in love all over again...

Love

Time Flies When You're Busy

Oh my God, Oh My God....!

how I really missed to write my story
Time is really priceless if you had so much to do.

I'm so handful with my 2 angels..
Kalyla and Ameera

not to mention my deadlines as a graphic designer..
oh, and my managerial duty of my husband photography studio hahaha....

and for the last 3 month I've been working on crochet project with my best friend..

Very exciting!
He's opening a furniture gallery and trust me to create crochet products as his store accessories department..

And here are the first trial and error design..
quite a start for exploring the yarns, shape and everything..

and crochet management indeed an important element
because crocheting a dozen cushion for one design is quite tricky

I've 6 crocheter, housewives that doing all the crochet after I made one sample.
and then on to the sewing process for the lining and labelling.. etc

Business is less fun than the crochet itself..

but, the part when I'm exploring new design is everything...!!
specially when my client approved it :D

I'll catch up with the first batch of the production
and will trying my best to post all the pattern too
(*finger crossed)

LEARNING TO WRITE PATTERN

I was posting up my new crochet WIP of a mandala a week ago on Instagram...

when few people start asking if I have the pattern,
usually I would answer I made it as I go and I couldn't write a pattern...
then it hit me?
Why would'nt I learn to do it?
At least I can learn to be consistent and can follow pattern correctly

so, here I am on saturday noon... trying to write pattern on my own term hehe
but coz I still dont know how to write pattern for bubble stitches like my green/blue mandala,
so I decide to write the pattern while I'm doing it
I'm using hook size J/6mm
with heavy worsted yarn ( berkshire bulky - www.yarn.com)

To Begin : ch 4 and join to form a ring.
ROW 1:
Ch 3,  then work 11 Tr into the ring. Join with slip stitch in the first Tr
Total 12 Tr  stitches
 **Change color………………………………

ROW 2:
Ch 2, then make 1 Dc in the same stitch ( between Tr stitches)
then make 2 Dc in every next in between Tr
Total 24 Dc stitches
**Change color………………………………..

ROW 3:
chain 2, then for the next stitch make 1 Dc all the way through the second row
( not into the top stitches) + 1 Ch

Make 1 Sc in the next stitches + 1 Dc all the way through the second row
+ 1 Ch  ( Repeat for  the next 10 pair of Dc)
Total 36 Dc stitches
**Change color………………………………..

ROW 4:
chain 2 ( as first Dc) then make 1 Dc in the same place ( in between stitches)
Continue with 2 Dc for the next 23 ‘in between’ + slip stitch in top of first dc
Total 48 stitches
**Change color………………………………..

ROW 5:
chain 3 + 2 Dc in the same stitch ( in between) so theres 3 dc in one ‘in between’
Then make 3 dc in the next 23 ‘in between’
Total 72 Stitches
**Change color………………………………..

ROW 6:
Sc 1 + Ch 2  then 1 Sc in the next ‘in between’ + Ch 2  then 1 Sc in the next ‘in between’
do that in the next 22 ‘in between’. Slip stitch
Total 72 Stitches
**Change color………………………………..

ROW 7:
Sc 1 in the ‘in between’ (space made from chain row 6)
Ch 2 ( little bit loose) then Sc 1 in the next space + Ch 2 and continue to Sc 1 in the space in between.
Do that until the next 22 ‘in between. Slip stitch
Total 72 Stitches
**Change color………………………………..

ROW 8:
Ch 3 + 2 Dc in the top of first stitch ( as the first triple Dc) + ch 1
and then make 3 Dc + ch 1 on to the next 22 space. Slip Stitch
**Change color………………………………..

ROW 9:
Ch 3 + 1 Dc in between the triple Dc Stitches + Ch 2 + 2 Dc
Missed 1 stitch & Slip stitch on the top next stitch.
2 Dc ‘in between’+ 2 Ch + 2 Dc + missed one top stitch + slip stitch on the top next stitch.
Repeat until the next 21 in ‘between’

 and here is the mandala..

hope the pattern is correct...
hope this will be useful. Enjoy!
